Washington, PA – The Washington Area Humane Society is pleased to announce the completion of a three-year strategic plan. In October 2024, WAHS contracted Rob DeOrio of DeOrio Strategies to guide the organization in creating its first strategic plan. The strategic team, comprising of Rob DeOrio, board members, and key staff, gathered input and ideas from volunteers, staff, board members, partners, community members, and donors. Over the course of four months, this input helped shape the organization’s vision, mission, values, and three-year goals.

Our vision is for all animals to have a valued life and a loving home.
Mission Statement
To provide shelter, safety, and care for the abandoned and abused animals of Washington County with the goal of placing them in forever homes.
The strategic initiatives encompass: – Our People – Operations and Organizational Growth – Sustainability – Partnerships and Community Education.
