SmokeyWe adopted this gentle giant, formerly known as Rome, now lovingly known as Reedo. He was named this by our daughter Kendall, we still are not sure why she picked this name, I’m not even sure if she knows. We had lost our dog Sid a Sheppard husky mix in November of 2009, he was 13 yrs old, and suffered from very bad arthritis and we found out that he had cancer. We came to your shelter to just look, and Reedo was the only dog who wasn’t barking. I almost missed seeing him because he was so black and quiet. I remember your staff bringing him out, and he put both paws on the couch and kissed our daughter, and the promptly laid on his back.

I can honestly say that not only did we pick him, he picked us. It was difficult at first because he was still a pup at 10 months old. I swear he didn’t bark for 2 weeks. He was so skinny, he was found roaming around on January 31st. But it didn’t take long to put some meat on his bones as you can tell. But I just wanted to say that rescuing him was one of the best things that we have done, and I highly recommend this to everyone. We love our gentle giant, thank you!!!
