All proceeds from this event will provide lifesaving support to nearly 6,000 pets in 2026 through adoptions, foster placements, low-cost veterinary clinics, affordable spay and neuter services, humane investigations, and a community pet food bank.
But that is not all! – Washington County’s most vulnerable animals will also receive shelter, safety, and care before being placed in a loving, forever home because of you.

About The Event
The Washington Area Humane Society is cheering on the Steelers and adoptable animals at our first ever Tails & Tailgate event. Join us on Sunday, October 18th from 12:30-4:30 PM at the shelter, 1527 Route 136, Eighty Four PA.
This is a free, humans only event. Guests can shop with local vendors, buy food and drinks or bring their own, participate in family-friendly activities, meet adoptable pets, and cheer on their favorite teams in a festive atmosphere.
We encourage you to bring cash to support our vendors, play games and enter in our 50/50 raffle. As a special thank-you, guests who donate an item from our wishlist will receive 1 free entry to our Steelers Ticket Raffle. Limit one free entry per adult in each household. Additional entries can be purchased for cash, must be present to win all raffles.
